Le Creuset in association with China Tourism and Shubra Krishan invited us for a gourmet evening at Nom Nom, Ashoka with celebrity chefs Chef Manish Mehrotra, Indian Accent; Chef Saby, Olive and Chef Dharmesh Karmokar, Director, Nom-Nom — I was hungry just thinking about it. I was also fairly interested to see how these three vary different sponsors were going to pull off one evening together. Le Creuset is a famous brand that produces cast-iron cookware mostly in Europe, and is now being introduced in India. As a food photographer, I’ve heard good things about the brand, in addition to always having something around as a prop. China Tourism of course needs no introduction. Shubra Krishan is the author of the book “The Top Secret! Super-Hit Recipes from Delhi’s Hottest Restaurants”, printed by Westland Ltd.
The event started with Chefs Manish and Saby taking questions and answers from the audience. I’d personally have rather they started preparing the dishes first and THEN taking questions, but the I was surprised as the audience did have plenty of questions.
I think the chefs were able to bring their collective expertise to bear, and coupled with the excellent staff at the Nom-Nom restaurant, this was certainly a fun evening.
